Julia Nowak is a qualified Payroll Specialist who also finds passion in music. She graduated from Music School in Poland and teaches music theory, gives piano and guitar lessons to young individuals. In The Tree House Julia plays a role of an imaginary friend Daisy and also alongside Przemek Straus contributes to songs creation as a singer and co-composer. In her spare time Julia enjoys to play bodhran, piano and to sing covers. She loves listening to local music and attends a lot of local events.
Joanna Tarasewicz is an actress and a dancer in AbroadWay Theatre. She joined the group after being selected at an audition earlier this year. Her love for theatre and dance started at early age. She was a member of folk & disco dance groups for a several years as well as school’s acting circle. She always enjoyed being on stage but after University there hasn’t been too many occasions (other than family events where she’s the entertainer but that’s not the same, right?). She is glad that now this very much missed interest of hers can be developed within a group of such talented and experienced people. She is very excited to be a part of this project and is looking forward to perform in the upcoming play where she plays a Nightmare, the Queen of Underworld.
Monika Łada is a Registered Nurse and works in a hospital. Despite her dedication to nursing she has found time for her other passion which is acting. In the past she belonged to a drama group and she was involved in some plays in Poland. Encouraged by her 17 year old daughter, both Monika and Malwina joined Abroad Way Theatre, having already gained theatrical experience in Fright Night and also staring as extras in the recent film ”Grace and Goliath”. In „Tree house”, Monika plays the character of Trickster, who turns out to have a dark side.
Rosie Lewicka has always had a passion for art. Her love for makeup wasn’t a rapid fire but more like a slow burn and it’s definitely in full bloom now. Rosie graduated this year with Vtct Level 3 Diploma in Makeup Artistry. She is trained in airbrush, body paint, theatrical & special effects, prosthetics, fashion, photographic media and camouflage makeup. She runs her own mobile business. She works at local events and fashion shows as well as she cooperates with local photographers. She does 1:1 makeup lessons for all of age groups and runs Bridal Parties. In AbroadWay Theatre she is a Makeup Artist. “I can transform our actors into anyone and anything they need to be, just like a Fairy God Mother with a touch of her magic wand. Malwina Nawojczyk was a GCSE and AS Drama and Performing Arts student. She was a part of many Drama and Performing Arts schools and clubs such as BSPA Bangor which she attended for two years. She took up many principle roles, ranging from tough women to frightened animals. For three continuous years during the Halloween period, she worked as an actress in The Jungle NI at FRIGHT NIGHT. Now she is doing her A2 exams with Moving Image Arts and hopes to work in her beloved field in the near future, either in front or behind the camera. She achieved various awards and has been highly noted on her acting in her schools and clubs. She joined Abroad Way Theatre to gain more experience and work with professionals in the field she is passionate about. In ‘Tree House’, she is taking up the role of Dina, an enthusiastic imaginary friend.
Lucas Ludziejewski is a server and network senior specialist in the mornings, a photographer and videographer in the late afternoons, a hard working dad and husband everyday. He is one of those guys who can say he loves his jobs. Yes! Jobs as he can not spend a single minute doing nothing. 1G1 Studio co-owner, managing several other projects and volunteering in at least two Belfast based charity organisations. Norn Iron is his home. Grzegorz Adamek is an actor, a director and a scriptwriter for AbroadWay Theatre. Two years ago he graduated from Queen’s University in Belfast as Bachelor of Arts. Shortly after he got involved in a Polish play “Two on the Sofa” where he debuted as an actor on stage. Later he made a venture to write and direct a short Christmas play for children titled “The Conifer and Bear’s Skin”. At the moment he is directing and acting in “The Tree house”, which he also wrote a script for.
Przemek Straus is Queen’s University Belfast graduate, (BSc in Music Technology and Sonic Arts, MA in Sonic Arts). He is a qualified sound designer with 10 years experience as well as a contemporary music composer with a rich sound design portfolio, which was mainly generated through analysis of image. For AbroadWay Theatre Przemek along with Julia Nowak, he forms a unique musical conception in creating sounds, songs and sonic clusters. Here, the most compositions are established upon meaning and construction of lyrics. The sonic works are produced with a use of computer virtual instruments, which are selected according to director’s suggestions.
Magdalena Janik is a Zumba instructor, a dancer and a choreographer and she runs her own Zumba classes. She also recently graduated from the Academy of Humanities and Economics in Lodz in Poland as Culture and Media Manager. For AbroadWay Theatre she has already prepared a choreography for our Christmas play “The Conifer and Bear’s Skin” where she was the dance leading character. For the “Tree House” she has prepared a choreo for Pat, who she plays, as well as for other characters in the show. FB: @Zumba fitness with Magdalena
Andrea Dymus is a founder and a manager of AbroadWay Theatre. She is a graduate of Jagiellonian Univeristy in Poland. She has a Masters Degree in Journalism and Social Science and also a second Bachelors Degree in Communication and Public Relations. She is a culture buff, that’s why in Northern Ireland for the last 6 years she has been organising cultural events – theatre shows, stand ups, film screenings, exhibitions, flash mobs, lectures, family events and festivals such as Polish Cultural Week, Heritage Day, Play Poland Film Festival etc. She works closely with multiple local and ethnic minority organisations and festivals. She is also an editor-in-chief of a Polish magazine Nasz Express, a publicist and author, a TV presenter and producer, a teacher and an AQA examiner as well. She likes to keep herself occupied… In her free time (if she has any)… she loves attending cultural events (for a change!), cooking and reading. Lukasz Jelonek is a graphic designer with 17 years of experience. He has Masters Degree in Graphic Design from Poland. In Northern Ireland he owns RedDeer Studio Graphics, where he takes care of his customers’ image by preparing their websites, banners, leaflets and anything you can think of when it comes to business advertising and promotion.
